Acting Chair Bob Banasik called the meeting to order. Minutes of the August 2006 F&B meeting were approved.
The comment card drawn for September was Ed Yablonski winner of dinner for two.
Action Items
The committee recommended the purchase of brass name
plaques for the dining room, lounge and ballroom. Purchase is based on a quote of
approximately $1500 for the three newly renamed room signs.
The reopening of the
Jeanna Hilton presented the committee with a figure of
$5 per person to provide coffee and water to all standing committees. Due to
the expense, the committee unanimously voted to drop the idea from further
consideration.
Bar stools are still a possibility for the bar area; however, a glass rack to the bar will require an ongoing discussion and feasibility study with Bob Banasik and the F&G Committee.
The special events committee has met and will meet
again Sept. 26th with Joanne Forester to work out budget and
scheduling conflicts. Residents wanting
to plan additional dining events through the year will continue their plans
through the Western Golf office. Some
date conflicts may arise with F&B scheduled special events, but this was
considered acceptable with the committee and will be a continued practice.
Mats have been installed at the doors between the
kitchen and dining room.

taking more food than perhaps wanted) and not very easy to handle. We have asked Hans Weisstanner to price out smaller and easier to use tongs.
Bob Banasik asked the committee and visitors just for a general feeling for the dining room and lounge furniture. It was agreed by all that it was too crowded. Bob Banasik will continue working with the designer and Liz Rocklin et al on the furniture issues.
Four committee members will be up for reelection
this December: Bob Banasik, Nadine
Bishop, Sheila Falsetti and Linda Parks.
Bob Banasik asked those committee members not running for reelection to
think of residents that would be helpful additions to the committee. Candidate names must be given to CMC by
October 10th.
Dining room statistics show dinner covers were up in
the month of September.
Hans Weisstanner is on vacation but sent the
following: On The Fly (soup and ½
sandwich), The Monte Cristo Sandwich, and the HH Trio Salad have returned to
the menu along with a Beer Battered Fish and Chips dish. The dinner menu now includes a choice of
house salad or cup of soup of the day with the entrée. Added items to dinner include: Sautéed Calf’s Liver, Blue Cheese Stuffed
Salisbury Steak, Bourbon Glazed Port Medallions and Angel Hair Pasta. This information will be put on Ch. 3. A wine list priced between $15-$20 a bottle
and $4-$5 a glass includes five white wine choices and four red wine
choices. New waffle irons to make
waffles to order have been used at the last two Sunday brunches.
General comments included a question from Sheila
Falsetti about Prime Rib Night. It was
hoped this has only been fazed out and will return at a latter date.
Italian Night had 85 attendees. Upcoming events include the Halloween Party
featuring “The Pluckers” on October 29th.
There were no additional committee member comments.
The meeting was adjourned at
11:00. Next meeting will be October
16th.
